By using Xeyel you agree to these terms. Xeyel is a free marketplace that connects buyers with sellers and service providers across West Africa and the diaspora. Deals happen directly between buyer and seller — Xeyel is not part of the sale and does not own, inspect or deliver the items.
You must be 18 or older. Keep your login private and your listing information truthful. We may suspend accounts that post illegal, misleading or abusive content.
You are responsible for what you publish. Do not list illegal, stolen, counterfeit, fake or dangerous items, and do not post misleading prices, photos or descriptions. We can remove any listing or account that breaks these rules, without notice. Placement features (Featured, Premium, top position) are granted only through a paid product or by the Xeyel team — never by editing a listing.
Visibility products are sold on xeyel.net only. Boost: one listing at the top of its category with a “Featured” badge for 7 or 30 days. Premium: seller badge, priority for your listings in search and categories (free listings still appear on every screen), view statistics and one free 7-day Boost per month, billed monthly or yearly. Billboard: a home-screen banner labelled “Sponsored”, booked for 1 day, 1 week or 1 month per region (The Gambia, Senegal, Europe/Global); its time starts when our team approves it, not at payment. Paid seller services are sold on the website only (never inside the apps). Prices are shown in Dalasi, FCFA or EUR before you pay and include all Xeyel fees. The current price list is displayed at checkout and on xeyel.net/pricing.
In The Gambia you can pay with Modem Pay (in Dalasi) or by card through Stripe (charged in euros, converted from the Dalasi price at the rate shown at checkout). Everywhere else you pay by card through Stripe or PayPal. Xeyel never stores card or mobile-money details. A product is activated only after the payment provider confirms the payment; activation is automatic and you receive an email receipt.
Boost and Premium start immediately and are not refundable once active, except where required by law or when Xeyel fails to deliver the product. Billboards are reviewed before going live: if your billboard is rejected (or not reviewed in time — 72 hours for card and PayPal, 40 hours for Modem Pay) you receive an automatic full refund to the same payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. Boosts and Billboards end automatically on their end date; Premium paid by card or PayPal renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from My Store → Premium, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for. Premium paid with Modem Pay is prepaid and does not renew automatically. When a product ends, your listings and store stay online on the free plan.
Xeyel Pay escrow, when available, has its own buyer-protection fee and rules, shown before checkout. Selling physical goods or services through Xeyel Pay is separate from the visibility products above.
